"After I cash out tomorrow, I'll transfer the money back to your account."

"We agreed it was your dowry. Isabella had a point. You should buy your own house and settle down with your husband."

An awkward identity, living in hardship. If they do well, people will say it was schemed. If they do poorly, people will say they deserved it..."

Evelyn's jaw tightened. She put down her chopsticks, about to speak.

Sophia sharply cut her off, staring at Isabella in disbelief.

"How can you say such things?!"

Isabella sneered.

"Am I wrong? I'm doing this for her own good! Mom, do you think being a love child is something to be proud of? Do you really have no issue with Linda Lowell at all?"

Sophia was speechless.

Isabella pressed her advantage.

"I've never seen any lawful wife be so devoted to a love child! Dad said he wouldn't acknowledge her, but you treat her like a treasure. Mom, am I worthless compared to her in your eyes?"

She lowered her head, wiping tears, then glared at Evelyn.

"Are you happy now that I'm being scolded?"
