Chapter 357

Attorney Miller looked puzzled but immediately agreed.

"Alright."

Most testing facilities were closed late at night.

Attorney Miller used his connections to find a small private institution.

Marcus Valentine put on a mask and hat, wrapping himself up tightly.

He followed Attorney Miller out of the hotel quickly.

The sampling process was fast.

The institution informed him that the earliest results would be available tomorrow morning.

Marcus left Attorney Miller to wait and drove away alone.

His car wandered aimlessly through the streets.

He didn't want to go home.

His parents' expectant gazes and Mina Sherwood's cold expression flashed through his mind alternately.

He turned the steering wheel and found himself outside Grace Nan's house without realizing it.

The villa was brightly lit.

Marcus parked his car and called Alexander Vance.

Soon, Alexander came out.

He was wearing loungewear and looked relaxed.

"What are you doing here on your wedding night?"

Marcus smiled bitterly.

"Have a drink with me?"

Alexander frowned.

"I don't drink."

"Then you have tea. I'll drink."

Marcus's tone was pleading.

"For old times' sake."

Alexander hesitated.

Thinking of Evelyn Ross chatting with Chloe Roland inside, he felt inexplicably irritated.

"Let's go."

He opened the car door and got into the passenger seat.

They went to a private room in a bar.

Marcus ordered a lot of alcohol and started drinking immediately.

"What do you think Mina is really thinking?" He put down his glass.

"She went through so much trouble to marry me. She didn't even care when I left?"

Alexander took a sip of tea and glanced at his phone.

Evelyn hadn't messaged him to ask where he was.

He snorted coldly.

"Women are hard to understand. Who can tell what's real and what's not?"

Marcus slammed the table heavily.

"Exactly! We're in the same boat!"

Alexander pulled his hand back.

"Don't group me with you."

His tone was firm.

"Evelyn has me in her heart."

Marcus shook his head drunkenly.

"I don't believe it! Let's see who's right!"

He slapped his phone on the table.

"Let's see whose woman comes looking first!"

Alexander scoffed but still placed his phone on the corner of the table.

He wasn't doing this to compete. It was just convenient.

Yes, that was it.

Alexander picked up his teacup and took a sip to hide his expression.

"Beep—"

Their phones chimed simultaneously.

Both looked at the table.

Marcus grabbed his phone first, then threw it back on the table in disappointment.

"Another ad!"

Alexander secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

He felt crazy for playing this game with a drunk.

What would winning even prove?

He and Evelyn didn't need this kind of test.

Alexander thought proudly but secretly opened WhatsApp.

He sent a period to Thomas Watson.

Thomas replied instantly.

"Boss?"

Alexander frowned.

His phone was fine. WhatsApp wasn't frozen.

Why hadn't she contacted him yet?

He put his phone back on the table but couldn't help glancing at it again.

Marcus was already asleep with his head on the table.

Empty bottles were scattered everywhere.

Alexander's eyes swept over Marcus's phone screen.

Did it just light up? Probably not Mina.

Two hours later.

Alexander's expression grew darker.

He stood up abruptly and walked out.

Marcus looked up drowsily.
