Chapter 294

Did that mean Evelyn Ross was also his third uncle's daughter?

Was Sophia Ashcroft's daughter actually his third uncle's daughter?

His mind was in chaos.

Evelyn, worried he might reveal the secret, deliberately played weak. "Mr. Valentine, why are you here today?"

Marcus snapped back to reality, his tone disdainful. "I came to support you! You and Evelyn Ross are twins, yet you lack even half her courage! How did you end up like this?"

Evelyn bowed her head without speaking.

The more Marcus looked, the angrier he became. "Marrying such a scumbag, befriending such a woman! Grace Nan, you're something else."

Just then, Evelyn's phone vibrated.

A WhatsApp message from Mina Sherwood: [Divorced?]

Evelyn replied: [Done. Celebrate tonight?]

Mina: [Busy tonight. Tomorrow?]

Evelyn had a bad feeling: [What are you doing tonight?]

Mina didn't reply again.

Marcus snorted coldly. "But don't worry, I'll deal with that scumbag. As for Mina Sherwood—I've already gotten revenge for you!"

Evelyn grabbed his wrist sharply. "What did you do to Mina?!"

Marcus looked at her anxious expression.

He suddenly remembered that Grace Nan hadn't been crying earlier, but laughing…

In a flash, he understood. "You wanted the divorce? Mina was helping you?!"

"Yes."

Marcus released her hand and turned sharply to his assistant. "Which hotel is she at tonight?"

The assistant was stunned. "Who?"

"Mina Sherwood!"

Hotel private room.

Mina Sherwood turned off her phone.

She took a deep breath and pushed open the door.

She had just entered when Mr. Locsitant grabbed her by the hair.

His greasy breath hit her ear. "Dare to play me? You'll learn the price tonight!"

He viciously tore at Mina's clothes, dragging her toward the bathroom!

Mina Sherwood clutched her hair with trembling hands.

Mr. Locsitant dragged her roughly toward the bathroom.

Terror was written all over her face.

She was thrown violently onto the cold tile floor.

Mr. Locsitant turned on the shower.

A blast of icy water hit her.

Mina shuddered violently.

She wanted to run.

But Mr. Locsitant blocked the doorway.

There was no escape.

She pushed her soaked hair aside.

Her eyes met Mr. Locsitant's lecherous gaze.

He was staring at her chest.

Mina suddenly remembered the white dress her uncle had given her.

When wet, it would…

She looked down.

The fabric was indeed clinging to her body.

She frantically covered her chest.

Her voice shook. "Don't…"

Mr. Locsitant leered and moved closer.

He reached out to grab her.

Just then—

BANG!

The door was kicked open.

A group of people rushed in.

Mr. Locsitant spun around, furious. "Who the hell dares—"

His words died in his throat.

His face paled when he saw who it was.

Marcus Valentine stood in the doorway.

He wore a black suit.

His usually playful face was now cold and stern.

He asked coldly, "Where is Mina Sherwood?"

Mr. Locsitant instinctively glanced toward the bathroom.

Mina was huddled in the corner.

Cold water continued to pour over her.

She hugged her shoulders, shivering.

She thought her life was over tonight.

Then she heard that familiar voice.

Her head snapped up.

She saw Marcus striding into the room.

Mina's eyes instantly welled with tears.

A wave of委屈 washed over her.

She fought back the urge to cry.

Marcus saw her condition.

His eyes turned icy.

He quickly stepped forward and turned off the water.

He took off his suit jacket and draped it over her.

He helped her to her feet.

Outside, his assistant had already restrained Mr. Locsitant.

Mr. Locsitant hurriedly explained, "Mr. Valentine, this was consensual…"

Mina trembled with rage.

But Marcus coldly asked her, "Is what he said true?"

Mina froze.

All words stuck in her throat.

She looked at Marcus in disbelief.

Marcus frowned and repeated, "Was this voluntary?"

Mina remained silent.

She suddenly remembered his words from yesterday.

So this was how he saw her.

Her body trembled slightly.

Her heart felt like it had been hollowed out.

Colder than the icy water.

She clenched her fists.

Suddenly, she took off the jacket and handed it back to him.

Her voice was low. "Don't let my situation dirty your clothes."

Marcus was taken aback.

He looked at her, confused.

Mina's wet clothes clung to her.

Outlining her curves.

Marcus scanned the men in the room.

The bodyguards immediately looked away.

He sneered, "So you were really willing?"

Mina's eyelashes fluttered.

She was about to speak.

A sharp voice rang out from the doorway. "Marcus Valentine, what nonsense are you spouting!"

Evelyn Ross hurried in.

She had just settled Chloe and rushed over.

She had heard Marcus's words.

Her face was pale with anger.

She took off her own jacket and wrapped it around Mina.

She turned a cold gaze to Mr. Locsitant.

Without a word, she kicked him.

Right in the groin.

Mr. Locsitant screamed and collapsed.

He rolled on the floor in agony.

Evelyn wanted to kick him again.

But she held back.

Marcus, however, stepped forward and delivered another kick.

He stomped on Mr. Locsitant. "Dare to lie to me? Tell the truth!"

Mr. Locsitant was sweating from the pain. "Her uncle forced her… used her parents to threaten her…"

Marcus increased the pressure.

Mr. Locsitant screamed and passed out.

Every man in the room felt a chill run down their spine.

Marcus looked at Mina. "I knew you'd have better taste than this trash."

Mina pressed her lips together.

She said coldly, "My affairs are none of your business."

Marcus scoffed. "None of my business? Can you handle the divorce lawsuit on your own? Zack signed the agreement, but what about the twenty million penalty from Sherwood Group? Do you think your word carries weight there? Or were you planning to secretly pay that money for Grace?"

Mina's pupils contracted.

Marcus immediately caught her reaction. "Oh, so you were planning to pay secretly. But would Grace, with her personality, ever accept it?"

Mina gritted her teeth in anger.

Marcus smiled triumphantly. "So you still need me. Since you're asking for a favor, you should have the right attitude… right, Mina Sherwood?"

Mina's chest heaved.

How did she ever think he was a gentleman?

He was clearly a opportunist taking advantage of her plight!

Marcus saw her anger.

He continued smiling. "So, do you still want me to handle your affairs?"
