Chapter 293

Zack Davis quickly wrote two Severance Agreements, completely cutting ties with Chloe Davis.

He turned to Evelyn Ross. "Sign it!"

Evelyn reached for the pen.

But Zack's mother grabbed her hand first. "Hurry up and sign! Don't you dare cling to my son! Take your worthless daughter and get out after the divorce!"

Evelyn pretended to be frightened, her hand trembling as she signed.

Zack snatched the Divorce Agreement and Severance documents.

He exchanged a look with Kelsey Lopez.

The three of them picked up their luggage and prepared to leave.

Zack's mother hesitated. "Where will we stay in such a hurry?"

Kelsey smiled. "You can stay at my place for now, Auntie. My three-bedroom is plenty big."

"Good, good. I'll take care of you from now on. A pregnant woman shouldn't overexert herself!"

Zack's mother dragged her suitcase and followed.

They had just reached the door when they bumped into a livid Marcus Valentine.

Zack stammered in fear. "M-Mr. Valentine? What brings you here?"

Marcus shot him a cold glance before looking at the woman with her back turned.

Her shoulders trembled slightly, as if she were crying.

Marcus felt both anger at her weakness and a pang of pity.

He demanded sharply, "Zack Davis, is this how you treat your lawfully wedded wife?"

Cold sweat dripped down Zack's neck. "Mr. Valentine, we're divorcing by mutual consent…"

Since he was caught, he forced a smile. "She agreed to all the terms in the agreement…"

"Agreed?"

Marcus strode toward Evelyn Ross. "I saw you forcing her with my own eyes… Huh?"

He stopped short as he got a clear look at Evelyn's face.

There were no tear stains on that face.

Instead, the corners of her mouth were curved in a smile.

The shoulder tremors were from suppressed laughter, not crying at all.

More importantly—this was unmistakably Evelyn Ross!

He froze in shock.

Evelyn, afraid Zack would notice something wrong, kept her back to the door.

She only shot Marcus a warning glare.

Mentally scolding him for ruining things, she spoke in a pitiful voice. "Mr. Valentine, the divorce is my choice. Zack had no other option… I only have myself to blame for misjudging people and being betrayed by my best friend…"

Marcus:?!!

Seeing Grace Nan speak up for him, Zack immediately relaxed.

He cautiously edged toward the door with his suitcase. "Mr. Valentine, you heard her… We'll be going now!"

He fled in a panic with his mother and Kelsey.

Marcus remained stunned, staring intently at Evelyn Ross. "Evelyn Ross? What are you doing here?"

Evelyn feigned confusion. "I'm Grace Nan. The Evelyn Ross you mentioned is Mrs. Vance, right? I attended her funeral…"

Marcus was completely baffled.

He pointed at the photo on the wall. "But you look exactly alike!"

Evelyn lowered her eyes. "It must be a coincidence. I've lived here since I was a child. I truly don't know the person you're talking about."

Marcus looked at his assistant.

The assistant immediately handed over a file. "Sir, all of Grace Nan's life photos are here."

Marcus flipped through the photos, confirming the person before him was indeed Grace Nan.

But the resemblance was uncanny. They had to be twins.

Grace Nan was his third uncle's daughter…
